He was predeceased by: his parents, Dorothy Louise Herbert (Singer) and Woodrow French Herbert; and his grandfather Grandpop. He is survived by: his wife Carol (Ginny); his brother Steve (Karen); his children, Amanda Butler, Evans (Bill), Alicia Busby (Luke), Jodi Pilatowski (Ron) and Todd Ihrig (Jane); his grandchildren, Madison Ihrig, Alexa, Hanna Busby, Leo, Jonah Butler, Jada Rhodes (Jash), Kyla and Serena Evans; his sisters-in-law, Barbara Garber and Karen Tuck; his father-in-law Cletus Myers; Delbert Kettering, Paul Fike and Vaughn Loose. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Mansfield First Church of the Brethren, Kind Hearts Hospice, Heifer Project and St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
