He was predeceased by: his parents, Otto Metzger and Irene Metzger (Gilliland); his wife Carol Turner; his daughter Jennie; and his sisters, Donna Funk and Lois Sass.

He is survived by: his daughters, Pamela Lenning (Ron), Gwendolyn Goetz (Ed) and Lois Bridge (Greg); his grandchildren, Rebecca Vanisacker (Dan), Elizabeth Day (Steven), Kristy Myers (Jonathan), Jeffery Myers, Julie Myers and Dakota Lawrence (Rob); his great grandchildren, Peyton and Maximus; and his brother Brian Metzger (Judy). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, loving family members and friends.
