With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Jerry Marvin Nissen (Oregon, Ohio), who passed away on May 27, 2026 at the age of 86. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Marvin Nissen and Evelyn Nissen (Phillips); his daughter Brenda Gilbertson; and his brothers, Larry "Skip", Ronald "Butch", Eugene and Ray Nissen.
He is survived by: his wife Virginia "Ginny" (Schweizer); his children, Cindy Nissen (Lisa), Andrew Nissen (Kerry) and Barbara Foster; his grandchildren, Katie Bottini (Bryson), Noah Nissen (Abby), Mallory Francis (Brayden) and Emily Thompson (Scott); his great grandchildren, Luca and Theo Bottini; and his siblings, Terry Nissen (Jill) and Barbara Schroeder (Carlton). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make an expression of sympathy are asked to consider a donation to Oregon Fire Fighters Memorial Fund, in honor of Jerry's many years of service with the Oregon Volunteer Fire Department or First St. John's Lutheran Church.
