It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Leta Jean Cherry of Oregon, Ohio, born in Toledo, Ohio, who passed away on February 12, 2026, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Winfield Ragan and Gladys Ragan (Benore); her daughter Patty Baranoski; her brother Winfield "Butch" Ragan Jr.; her grandson Garrett Cherry; her son-in-law Alan Beck; her close friend Roberta Tate; and her in-laws, Joe, Ruth Marquis, Jim, Mary McShane, Ken and Carol Hockman.
She is survived by: her husband Bernard Cherry; her children, Bernard "Bud" Cherry Jr., Steve Cherry (Paula), Greg Cherry (Angelika), Debbie Beck, Melissa Szigeti (Alex) and Chris Cherry; and her grandchildren, Erin, Brandon, Kristin, Brian, Colleen, Michael, Melissa, Robbie, Jessica, Joe, Jeff, Josh, Lindsay, Justin, Bill and A. J.. She is also survived by 19 great-grandchildren, 1 great great-grandchild, and many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are appreciated to the Epiphany of Our Lord Catholic Church or Helping Hands of St. Louis.
