Hemphill, Jr. (Denise), Betty Ann Taylor (Hemphill) and Shirley K. Perkins (John); and his siblings' children, Scottie Miller, Melinda, Angie Miller, Lindsay Swartz (Schell), Kory, Lauren (Schell), Greenspan, Michael, Jessica Miller (Johnston), Joseph W. Hemphill III, Josh McCabe (Maranda), Christopher Slane (Kelsey) and Robbie Sanders.
