He was predeceased by: his parents-in-law, Donald and Iola Elliott; and his brother James Wertz. He is survived by: his wife Lola; his stepchildren, Veronica Hutchinson, George Schar, Charlie Schar (Traci) and Steven Schar; and his sisters, Deb Rowland (Dave) and Lisa Birkes. He is also survived by 11 step-grandchildren; 2 step-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 9th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Orrville Grace Brethren Church (2200 Paradise Rd, Orrville, OH 44667). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 9th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Thursday, October 9th 2025 at 12:30 PM at the Sherwood Memorial Gardens (7067 Cleveland Rd, Wooster, OH 44691).
