He was predeceased by : his parents, John McConnell and Anna Jo McConnell (Whalen); his siblings, Steven McConnell and Cindy Watson; and his stepfathers, Robert Holt and Clarence Miller.

He is survived by : his wife Betty; his children, Chris McConnell (Andi) of Orrville, Michelle McConnell (Jeff Rhodes) of Canal Fulton, Melissa McConnell of Ridgeley, WV, Melinda Fogle (Shannon) of Mansfield and Miranda McConnell-Casto of Wooster; his brother Mike McConnell (Joanna) of Hampstead, NH; and his brother-in-law Walter Watson. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

Visitation was held on Thursday, May 23rd 2024 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Zak-Thacker & Monbarren Funeral Home (132 Portage St, Doylestown, OH 44230). A funeral service was held on Friday, May 24th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
