Ruth M. Cober Obituary
We announce the death of Ruth M. Cober of Orrville, Ohio, who passed away on October 15, 2026, at the age of 91. Ruth will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Ralph Musser and Beulah Musser (Zercher); her husband Louis Owen Cober; and her sons-in-law, Timothy Hershberger and Jim Fortner.
She is survived by: her children, Lynette Cumpston (John) of Dalton, OH, Lorinda Fortner of Naples, FL and Sheldon R. Cober M. D. (Sanjana) of Portland, OR; her grandchildren, Joshua (Emily), Joel Hershberger (Kirsten), Danae Schutt (Caleb), Jeremy (Pamela), Jesse (Sarah), Jacob Fortner, Kiara, Tatiana and Sirena Cober; and her brother Harold Z. Musser (Judy) of Mount Joy, PA. She is also survived by 16 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 31st 2026 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Amherst Community Brethren in Christ Church (8650 Beatty St NW, Massillon, OH 44646). A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 31st 2026 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
