He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Gabel and Helen Gabel (Filicky); and his sisters, Mary Jean and Judy. He is survived by: his wife Betty Vance Gabel; his children, Debbie Slone (Larry), Tom R. Gabel (Vicky) and Eric Gabel; his grandchildren, Cortney Perdue (Jason), Carenn Slone, Keith Slone, Shauna Hall (R. J.) and Savannah Gabel; and his great grandchildren, Rylan Gabel, Emma Moline, Lexie Slone, Kaleb Slone, Remy Slone and Beckett Hall. He is also survived by many extended family members and friends.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 14th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Underwood Funeral Home (703 E 5th St, Marysville, OH 43040). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 15th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
