It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Franklin J. Niese (Ottawa, Ohio), who passed away on February 5, 2026, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Niese and Frances Niese (Schroeder); his wife Janice Meyer; his daughter Mary Jo Niese; his granddaughter Marissa Niese; and his siblings, Carl Niese (Marietta), Victor Niese (Monica), Eugene Niese, Marilyn Roebke (Harold), Martha Turnwald (Don) and Bill Niese.
He is survived by: his children, Frank Jr. Niese (Sandra) of Jenera, Joelyn Etgen (Greg) of Delphos, Charles Niese (Tammy) of Pandora, Jane Rosengarten (Dean) of Leipsic and Rob Niese (Cindy) of Leipsic; his sister Pat Fuerst (Karl); and his sisters-in-law, Helen Niese and JoAnn Niese. He is also survived by twenty grandchildren; forty-five great-grandchildren.
Memorial donations may be made to Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church and/or School, St. Mary's Church and/or School, or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
