It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joan Gerding of Ottawa, Ohio, who passed away on May 30, 2025, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Joan Gerding to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Amos Ruhe and Bertha Ruhe (Romer); her brothers, Bob, Kenneth and Fred Ruhe; and her brother-in-law Melvin Niese.
She is survived by: her daughters, Natalie Roberts (John) of Toledo, Julie Gerding of Dandridge, TN. and Ann Luneke (Chris) of Dayton; her grandchildren, Jackie, Audrey, Bailey and Mason; her siblings, Marlene Niese and Steve Ruhe; and her sisters-in-law, Marilyn Ruhe and Lynn Ruhe.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 1st 2025 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Love Funeral Home - Ottawa (405 E 3rd St, Ottawa, OH 45875). A funeral service will be held on Sunday, June 1st 2025 at 7:50 PM at the Love Funeral Home (405 E 3rd St, Ottawa, OH 45875). A funeral Mass will be held on Monday, June 2nd 2025 at 10:00 AM at the STS Peter and Paul Catholic Church - Ottawa (307 N Locust St, Ottawa, OH 45875).
Memorial donations may be made to Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic School.
