She was predeceased by : her parents, Miguel Gomez and Rosa Gomez (Vasquez); her husband Jesus C. "Jesse" Tapia; her daughters, Lydia Tapia and Linda Claybaugh; and her siblings, Eluterio Gomez and Dimas Gomez.

She is survived by : her children, Darlene Tesnow (James) of Findlay, Alicia Tapia Fout (Steve) of Findlay, Jesus Tapia, Jr. of Dayton, Jesse Tapia of Arlington and Lisa-Belle Tapia Haynes (Shane) of Findlay; and her siblings, Erineo Gomez and Pieda Gomez. She is also survived by 25 grandchildren; 59 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren.
