He was predeceased by : his father Charles Ezra; and his siblings, Charles D Hughes, Denver Hughes, Richard Hughes, Martha Adams and Annis Hughes.

He is survived by : his wife Mary Hoffer Hughes; his sons, Anthony Hughes of Lucasville, Brian Hughes of Otway and Barry Hughes of Virginia Beach, Virginia; his grandchildren, Yamato Hughes, Taiyo Hughes and Amanda Charlton; his great grandchildren, Ariel, Lyla, Noah and Aleah; and his brother Sherman Hughes.

In lieu of flowers the family asks donations be made to the funeral home to help with funeral expenses.
