He was predeceased by: his parents, Ballard Gayhart and Fannie Gayhart (Trent); his wife Juanita; his son Mike; his granddaughter Mandy; and his siblings, Bill, Herman, Ballard Jr., Robert, Elmer, Malta Pelfrey, Ila Mae Brown and Helen Lawwill.

He is survived by: his children, David, Larry (Janice), Darryl, Mark, Kim Jerdon (Kerry), Amy Edrington (Jeff) and Michelle Gayhart; and his sister Lorene Stout. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren.
