We announce the death of Jay W Baird in Oxford, Ohio, who passed away on September 13, 2026, at the age of 90. He was predeceased by: his parents, Dr. Warren Baird and Helen Baird; his wife Sally; his siblings, Nancy Baird Rudolph and Jeffrey; and his granddaughter Ash Fusa Baird.
He is survived by: his children, Lisa, Bryan (Sayuri) and Stanford (Anna); his grandchildren, Ciara, Savannah Sally, Sommer, Cameron, Griffin and Joshua; and his great grandchildren, Luca and Toki.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 7th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Oxford Presbyterian Church (101 N Main St, Oxford, OH 45056).
He was most proud of receiving the Benjamin Harrison Medallion in 1998, Miami University’s highest career faculty award, honoring extraordinary and sustained contributions to teaching, research, and service.
