She was predeceased by: her son Shane Hughes; and her mother Cassandra Corlew. She is survived by: her grandson Asher; her husband Brian Hughes; her children, Spenser Hughes (Stephanie) and Sutten Hughes; her father Jon Corlew; and her sister Michelle DePetris (Chris).
She was part of Crain's Cholangiocarcinoma crew and spoke at the Cleveland Clinic Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation Symposium to share her journey and give hope to others fighting this cancer.
