He is survived by: his wife Susan Vanderwal Cowling; his children, Michael Cowling (Sara) and Dorigen Cowling; his stepson Gavin Malcolm; and his grandchildren, Natalie, Andrew, Griffin Cowling, Marissa and Dalia Malcolm.
