He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Smith and Anna Smith. He is survived by: his wife Joann; his sister Maria Porach; his sisters-in-law, Virginia Burton (late Charles) and Diana Mayer (late John); his nieces, Cheryl Bokisa (Jim), Joanie Gedeon (Matt), Karen Gallagher (Kevin) and Lori Crow (Jim); his great-nieces and great-nephews, Chuck (Ellen), Christie (Philip), Jesse, Sean, Christopher, Jonathan, Emily, Steven, Logan and Joey; Ashton, Cylas of Charlie, JJ, Trinity, Kane, Adaline, Allie and Ace.
Visitation was held on Thursday, May 14th 2026 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the A. Ripepi & Sons' Funeral Home (18149 Bagley Rd, Middleburg Heights, OH 44130). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, May 15th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the St. John Bosco Church (6480 Pearl Rd, Parma Heights, OH 44130). The military honors will be held on Friday, May 15th 2026 at the Military Honors Holy Cross Cemetery (14609 Brookpark Rd, Brook Park, OH 44142).
