Susan will be remembered for the time spent with loved ones and the moments that brought joy to those around her. She was predeceased by: her parents, Chester Owens and Maureen Yahnert Owens. She is survived by: her husband Robert Whitley; her siblings, Jean Ritchie (Jeff Ritchie) and Joseph Owens; and her sons, Zachary Morit (Alyssa Morit), Aaron Morit (Jordan High), Don Lucas (Chena Lucas) and Robert "BJ" Lucas (Briyana Alexander). She is also survived by nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a wide circle of family and friends.
A celebration of life was held on Sunday, September 27th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Zabor Funeral Home (5680 Pearl Rd, Parma, OH 44129).
Because of Sue's love for the children she worked with and cared for, the family will be accepting donations in her name, in lieu of flowers, to Providence House, an organization that provides free, voluntary emergency shelter to children newborn through twelve years old whose families are experiencing crisis, without changing custody.
