He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Benewiat and Louise Benewiat; his sister-in-law Nina Leotta; and his nephew Joseph Benewiat. He is survived by: his wife Jeanette; his sons, Michael J. (Ariel), Mathew, Brian (Irvin) and Jason (Jassamine); his grandsons, Michael and Tristan; his siblings, Bernard "Bernie" Benewiat and Kathy Ziemba; his siblings-in-law, Mary Ann Opincar (Dave) and John Moilov (Sherri); and his nieces and nephews, Damian Dusek (Kim), Adam Dusek, Eric Benewiat (Michelle), Kelly Walker, Nicole Laccheo (Nick), Lauren Eberhardt (Ricky), Greg Moilov and Cassie Moilov.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, September 15th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Craciun Funeral Home (14925 Bagley Rd, Middleburg Heights, OH 44130). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, September 16th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
