He was predeceased by : his parents, Buford Shipley and Mary L. Ruhlman Shipley; and his brother Martin Shipley. He is survived by : his wife Carol Schutte Shipley; his children, Kimberley Hatchell (Craig) of Sumter, Amy Baldwin (Shaun) of Patriot, Ohio and Scott Shipley (Christy) of San Antonio, Texas; his granddaughters, Samantha Richards (Kat), Kasey Baldwin and Paige Shipley; his great grandchildren, Carlisle and Cora Richards; and also John Shipley of Bethel, Ohio..

Visitation was held on Wednesday, April 10th 2024 from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM at the Willis Funeral Home (12 Garfield Ave, Gallipolis, OH 45631). A funeral Mass was held on Wednesday, April 10th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the St. Louis Catholic Church (85 State St, Gallipolis, OH 45631).
