He was predeceased by: his parents, Herman F. Arend and Elsie Arend (Gordon); his siblings, Herman G. Arend, Jr., Russel J. Arend, Alma Mae Thornell, Donna Proxmire and Helen Sauber; and his son-in-law Greg Troyer.
He is survived by: his wife Patricia Hoffman of Paulding, OH; and his daughters, Debbie Smith (David) of Corbin, KY, Diane Goyings (Doug) of Paulding, OH, Sheryl Wannemacher (Don) of Defiance, OH, Patty Cramer (Mike) of New Albany, OH and Brenda Troyer (Greg) of Oakwood, OH. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.
