He was predeceased by: his parents, Leona Parsons (Seifert) and William James Parsons; his wife Margie Ruth Parsons; his son James William Parsons II; his grandson Adam Andrew Ryder; and his sister Joan Luman.
He is survived by: his daughter Barbara Carter (John); his siblings, Richard Parsons (Kay), Thomas Parsons (Leslie) and Deanna Wilson; and his grandchildren, Brian (Mindy) and Lindsey (Cory). He is also survived by 5 great grandchildren.
