He was predeceased by: his mother Carolyn Hayes (Shope); and his brother Robert "Bob" Hayes. He is survived by: his fiancée Jane Cade; and his brothers, Michael Shope (Deneal) of Oak Hill and Ira Hayes of Pedro. He is also survived by children and grandchildren.
