She was predeceased by: her parents, John DeAtley and Anna DeAtley; and her husband Theron Shoemaker. She is survived by: her granddaughter Kara Shearer; her sisters, Geraldine Johnson (Harry), Christine Brewer (Charles), Grace Thompson (Dean), Deloris Weiler (Gordon), Judy Call (Orin) and Susan Willoughby (Skip); her siblings-in-law, Louise DeAtley, Alice Mae Grooms (Hubert) and Richard Shoemaker; her children, Valerie Swayne (Richard) and Phillip Shoemaker (Carma) of Peebles; her brother John DeAtley Jr.; her sister-in-law Patricia Shoemaker; her grandchildren, Deborah Swayne (Francesca Salvatini), Benjamin Shoemaker (Krystal) and Whitney Newman (Wes); and her great grandchildren, Jon Michael Shoemaker, Isabella Shoemaker, Brantley Shoemaker, Walker Newman, Wylie Newman, Marcus Shearer and Malachi Shearer. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews and special family friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that memorial donations be made to the Pancreatic Cancer Research Fund at the University of Cincinnati Cancer Center.
