He was predeceased by: his parents, Russell Penwell and Clarabelle Penwell; his sister Laura Mae Jackson; and his brother-in-law Joe Bill Cross. He is survived by: his wife Geraldine; his children, Philip Penwell (Amanda), Crystal Moon (Chad) and Kimberly Carter; his grandchildren, Arron Penwell, Brianna Purdin, Brandon Purdin, Dylon Needs and Natalie Carter; and his siblings, Roy Penwell (Caroline), Randy Penwell (Lorretta), Ricky Penwell (Penny), David Penwell (Marsha), Zorritta Knisley (Arnette), Melody Cross and Peggy Tong (Roger). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
