He was predeceased by: his parents, Louis Chaiten (Pauline Chaiten) and Pauline Chaiten; his brother David Chaiten; and his half-brother Raymond Chaiten. He is survived by: his wife Sylvia Moliff; his sister Norma Kupersmidt of Chapel Hill; his children, Ellen McConnell (Robert McConnell), Lorie Chaiten (Harold Hirshman), Jodi Chaiten (Corinne Daprano) and Louis Chaiten (Cynthia Chaiten); his grandchildren, Dr. Alison Dachner (Joel), Ashley Lanphear, Dr. Samuel Hirshman (Nam Vera Chau), Dr. Emma Hirshman (Samuel Smith), Braden McConnell (Lilith Richter-Stephenson), Jacob Hirshman (Laura Hietamies), Edith Chaiten, Antonio Chaiten, Lillian Chaiten and Matteo Chaiten; and his great grandchildren, Liesel Dachner, Benjamin Lanphear, Daphne Dachner, Maxton Lanphear, Aaron Dachner and Asher Hirshman.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 22nd 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Betty Rosskamm Funeral Service (27501 Fairmount Blvd, Pepper Pike, OH 44124). A burial will be held on Tuesday, July 22nd 2025 at the Bet Olam Cemetery (27501 Fairmount Blvd, Pepper Pike, OH 44124).
