He was predeceased by: his parents, Adolph Schandel and Anna Schandel (Gestrich); and his sister Judy Geers. He is survived by: his wife Rosemary (Heitger); and his children, William V. Schandel, Charles Schandel, Robert Schandel (Jenny), Susan Pribonic (Peter) and Bonnie Schiffner (Gary). He is also survived by one sister; ten grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Monday, September 22nd 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Heitger Funeral Home - Massillon Chapel (639 1st St NE, Massillon, OH 44646). A funeral Mass was held on Tuesday, September 23rd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Holy Family Parish - St. Clement (202 Wooster St NE, Navarre, OH 44662).
