He was predeceased by: his parents, Lawrence Friend and Elizabeth Friend (Worthing). He is survived by: his wife Barbara A. Buhr; his sons, Gary Friend Jr. of Luckey and Eric Johnson (Wendy) of Curtis; and his grandchildren, Brooke, Hannah and Gary III.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials take the form of contributions to: A charity of the donor's choice.
