With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Jerald Alan Charles of Perrysburg, Ohio, born in Bluffton, Ohio, who passed away on April 2, 2023 at the age of 78. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Charles and Erma Charles (Leinsetter); and his nephew David Deatrick. He is survived by: his wife Phyllis (Wachter); his daughter Marla Pawlowicz (Ryan) of Swanton; his grandchildren, Reece, Blaine and Macy Pawlowicz; his sister Marita Deatrick (Ron) of Ottawa; his stepchildren, Shelley Gonyer (Scott) of Cygnet and Dean Heilman (AJ) of Weston, Ohio.; his stepgrandchildren, Ashley Swartz (Zach), Allison Gonyer (David Cline) and Abby Benschoter (James); his stepgreat-grandchildren, Hunter Cline, Autumn Cline, Dakota Swartz, Jaxon Benschoter and Georgia Benschoter; and his nieces and nephews, Melissa Bendele (Jeff), DeVon Kottenbrock (Jason) and Darlene Deatrick.

Memorial contributions may be given in his memory to Monroe St. Church or Monroe Street Neighborhood Center.
