He was predeceased by: his parents, Alex Rummell and Fay Rummell (Hiles); his brother Jack Rummell; his daughter-in-law Amy Litten; his sister Janet Lee (Dick); his nephew Chris; and his niece Kelly.

He is survived by: his wife Judy; his children, Jay Rummell, Julie Vogel (Richard), Michelle Valiant (Mike) and Mike Litten; his grandchildren, Alex Vogel, Jessica Armbruster (Luke) and Justin Staton (Kayla); his great grandchildren, Faith, Maxine and Reed; his brother Robert Rummell (Norine); his sister-in-law Sharon Robinson; his nephew Terry; and his nieces, Denise and Evy. He is also survived by many loving family members and friends.

Preferred memorials in lieu of flowers to the Toledo Firefighter Museum or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
