He was predeceased by: his parents, Atanacio Cardenas and Jovita Cardenas (Rodriguez); his grandmothers, Martinez, Conjunto, Eddie and Filomena Cruz; his siblings, Francesca, Marcos, Atanacio Jr. and Juan Jose; his son-in-law Tomas Albert; and his grandson Xavier Atanacio.
He is survived by: his son La Lumbre of Joey Cardenas; his wife Maria (Ibarra); his children, San Juan, Jose Javier (Margie), Magdalena, Ricardo (Linda) and Esmeralda; and his sister Ariz (Jesus). He is also survived by nine grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
