He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Mattes and Bertha Mattes (Bowman); his wife Margaret; his sons-in-law, Thomas Shaw and Mike Fejes; and his siblings, Kenneth, Lucille and Harold.
He is survived by: his daughters, Linda Shaw and Susan Fejes; his grandchildren, Julie Nye (Mark), Melissa Fejes, Christina Guinsler (Dave), Stephen Fejes (DeAnn Loster) and Matthew Fejes (Samantha); and his great grandchildren, Gavin, Nikolas, Caden, Elizabeth, Dane, Kendall, Michael and Cooper. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
