He was predeceased by : his parents, John Eckel and Florence Eckel (Haas); his brother Chris; and his brother-in-law John Neagley. He is survived by : his significant other Louise Michelsen; his sons, Tim (Clara) and Todd (Rachel); his grandchildren, Lucas (Heidy), Claire, Grace, Grant, Gabby and Lexie; his great grandchild Eloise; and his siblings, Maurice (Edna), Doug (Sandy), Deb Mercurio (Jim), Ted (Judy), Stan (Pam), Max (Luann) and Marcia Neagley. He is also survived by his family, especially his grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Thursday, May 2nd 2024 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Walker Funeral Home - Witzler-Shank Chapel (222 E South Boundary St, Perrysburg, OH 43551). A funeral service was held on Thursday, May 2nd 2024 from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the same location.
