We announce the death of Jerry Eugene Hazen of Philo, Ohio, who passed away on August 31, 2026, at the age of 72. Jerry will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his parents, Eugene Hazen and Catherine Hazen (Roll); his sisters-in-law, Violet Neal and Karen Hazen; and his niece Rachelle Rupe.
He is survived by: his significant other Veronica "Ronnie" Hazen; his children, Corry Hazen (Regan), Chantae Hazen (Chad Hammer), Casey Hazen (Danielle) and Catie Cox (Brian); his grandchildren, Alison Stipes (Logan), Gunner Hazen (Brooke), Jaggar Kinder (Parkher Nicols), Dalton Hazen (Gabrielle Gute), Gavin Kinder, Payton Dearth, Mattie Webster (Dylan), Emma Dearth (Easton Smith), Sydney Dearth (Jagger Lindell), Jackson Hargraves (Emily), Lilly Hazen, Canon and Collins Cox; his great grandchildren, Pyper, Waylon, Larson Stipes, Braxton, Hadlee Hazen, Weston Smith and Karver Webster; and his brother Rick. He is also survived by numerous cousins and countless friends.
Visitation was held on Monday, September 7th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM and on Tuesday, September 8th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home (1271 Blue Ave, Zanesville, OH 43701). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, September 8th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Tuesday, September 8th 2026 at the Zanesville Memorial Park (1475 Military Rd #111, Zanesville, OH 43701).
In lieu of flowers, the Hazen family has asked that those who wish to, make a memorial contribution to a foundation he was so proud of, that was his baby, Bikers Supporting Bikers at 420 W. Main St. Newark, Ohio 43055 and/or The Down Bikers Fund at 1246 Wayne Avenue Zanesville, Ohio 43701.
