He was predeceased by: his parents, Eugene Dankowski and Irene Nemtus Dankowski; his wife Lorraine Szymczak; his in-laws, Sam and Dorothy Szymczak; and his siblings-in-law, Tom Kilcoyne, Jerry Szymczak and Diane Szymczak.
He is survived by: his children, Lorraine (Dale Jordan), Jim (Cindy Dankowski), Theresa (Steve Arnett), Margaret (Jay Puryear), Dan (Amy Dankowski) and Sue (Bill Dale); and his sisters, Eguenia Gorski and Mary Kilcoyne. He is also survived by his 12 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, Jim has asked for donations to be made in his name to Blind Veterans Association, who provided many tools and aides after his blindness.
