James Mercer Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James Mercer of Pickerington, Ohio, born in Columbus, Ohio, who passed away on July 21, 2025, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Hugh Mercer and Catherine Mercer (Case); and his in-laws, Richard Mercer (Joan), Eileen Sullivan (Charles), Mary Alice Johnston (Tom), Kitty Lou King (Joseph) and Ann Marie Elkins.
He is survived by: his wife Charlene (Griesenbrock); his brothers, Mike Mercer (Connie) and Phil Mercer (Susie); his children, Theresa Lingnau (Bernie), Linda Rainey (Jerry), Susan Robson (Scott), Alice Jeffers (Duane) and Jim Mercer (Sara); his grandchildren, Danielle Moster (Austin), Kaitlin Lingnau, Bradley Lingnau (Kaitlin), Mariah Lingnau, Emily Rainey (Patrick), Nicholas Rainey (Marisa), Andrea Rainey, Michael Robson, Dominic Robson, Julia Robson (Colin), Hunter Jeffers (MacKenzie) and Heath Jeffers; his great grandchildren, Andrew Moster and Levi Silva; and his caregivers, Jim, Nikki Burge, Lisa Darby, Kim Swinderman and Jerell. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 27th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Maeder-Quint-Tiberi Funeral Home (1068 S High St, Columbus, OH 43206). A rosary will be held on Sunday, July 27th 2025 at 6:45 PM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday, July 28th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St. Patrick Church (280 N Grant Ave, Columbus, OH 43215).
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Patrick Church.
