He was predeceased by: his wife Betty Ilene Hummel (Garrison); his son Rick Hummel; his grandson Dan Hummel; his parents, Luther T. Hummel, Sr. and Josefa Hummel (Lubinski); and his siblings, Josephine Allen, Marcella Loebensberg, Wellington "Dick" Hummel, Rebecca Boone and Ruth Patrica "Patsy".
He is survived by: his children, Bonnie Vandermark-Geary (Mike), Elaine Harrold (Harvey), Heather Chabot (David), Bethann Graham (Shane), Luke Hummel, Rand Hummel (Amber), John Vandermark (Beate) and Ron Hummel. He is also survived by 22 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.
