It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Roger Gustav Phillips of Pickerington, Ohio, born in Shelbyville, Illinois, who passed away on January 20, 2024, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Louis Phillips and Marie Phillips (Schloz); his former wife Judith Ellen Arheit Phillips; his wife Marian Katter Hirschfeld Phillips; his stepmother Catherine "Kate" Phillips; his daughter Molly; his son-in-law Austin Arnold; and his grandson Adam Carl Steuer.
He is survived by: his children, Melissa Moriarty (Patrick) of Pickerington, Melanie Steuer (Keith) of Alpharetta, Georgia and Matthew Phillips (Angela) of Lebanon, Ohio.; his grandchildren, Erin Thomas (Marc), Erica Lovely, Brittany Toney (Ryan), Elyse Marion (Adam), Nathaniel Phillips (Kathryn), Jacob Steuer (Lindsay), Kylee Bentley (Evan), Samantha Potts (Garrett), Sarah Arnold, Danielle Arnold, Anna Arnold and Rachel Arnold; his great grandchildren, Tyler, Turner, Tenley, Jackson, Riley, Hunter, Bexley, Kenton, Maes, Houston, Elijah, Sarah Claire, Caleb, Adam, Everett, James, Luke, Phillip, George and Ashton; his sisters-in-law, Janice Wunderle and JoAnn Lindgren (James); his stepbrothers, Dave Spelbring (Barbara) and Dan Spelbring (Pat); his nieces, Jennifer Geraci, Kristin (Justin), Jeanne Whitsel (Eric) and Amy Adair; and his stepsons, Greg Hirschfeld (Linda) and Glen Hirschfeld (Traci). He is also survived by 11 grand nieces and nephews, 5 step grandchildren, and 8 step great grandchildren.
