He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Wesley and Pauline Jayne Shear; his daughter Rhonda; his son-in-law Anthony Ferguson; and his brother-in-law Richard Colanere.
He is survived by: his children, Vicki Alley (Ed) of Piketon and Chris Shear (Lisa) of Stockdale; his grandchildren, Tara Raines (Dwayne) of Inez, Wesley Shear (Sabrina) of Piketon, Luke Shear (Mattie) of Piketon, Autumn Shear of Waverly, Justin Ferguson (Dedra Hensley), Cortney Spencer, Tori Canter and Jacob Canter of Waverly; and his siblings, Norma Colanere of Bexley, Ohio and Roy Lee Shear (Helen) of Grove City, Ohio.. He is also survived by 17 great- grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, November 26th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Calvary Baptist Church (212 Indian Ridge Dr, Piketon, OH 45661). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, November 26th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Wednesday, November 26th 2025 at the Bailey Chapel Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the Calvary Baptist Youth Department.
