He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl J. Batdorf and Gloria V. Batdorf (Dahl); and his niece Megan Batdorf. He is survived by: his daughter Jennifer Batdorf of Toledo, Ohio; his grandchildren, Aleasha, Allesandra, Alexis and Logan; his siblings, Ann Vreeland (Howard) of Marco Island, Florida, Richard Batdorf (Loraine) of Naples and Tom Batdorf; and his siblings' children, Keith Vreeland (Mandy), Vanessa Jacobs (Brett), Amy Batdorf (Bob Davis) and Amanda Batdorf-Hooper (Brent).
