He was predeceased by: his father Richard "Dick" Downing; his nephew Jason Seabolt; and his grandparents, Wayne, Pauline Downing, Roland and Peggy Boothman.

He is survived by: his mother Carolyn D. Downing (Boothman) of Pioneer; and his siblings, Christine Downing of Montpelier, Frank Downing of Pioneer, Tracey Clark (Mike) of Camden and Casey Downing of Defiance. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, even more great nieces and great nephews; several aunts, uncles.

Memorials may be given to the Williams County Humane Society.
