He was predeceased by: his parents, Herbert Ernest and Gladys Rebecca Roeth (Phillips); his brother Kenneth Roeth; his daughter-in-law Letty Roeth; his granddaughter Logan Roeth; and his brother-in-law Tom Smith.
He is survived by: his wife Marilyn A. Roeth (Smith); his children, Mike Roeth of Fort Wayne, IN, Mark (Paula Roeth) and Marsha; his son-in-law Ken DeWeese of Piqua; his grandchildren, Ryan Roeth, Colin Roeth (Elena), Kyle Roeth (Lauren), Lindsey Colvin (Clay), Ty Roeth, Justin DeWeese, Christian DeWeese and Cameron DeWeese (Rachel); and his great grandchildren, Makenzie, Mason, Jackson, Isabelle, Lyla, Nora and Gunnar.
Visitation was held on Friday, August 21st 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Baird Funeral Home (555 N Market St, Troy, OH 45373). A funeral service was held on Saturday, August 22nd 2026 at 11:00 AM at the First Lutheran Church of Troy (2899 W Main St, Troy, OH 45373).
Memorial contributions may be made to Miami County Board of Developmental Disabilities at 1625 Troy Sidney Rd, Troy, OH 45373 (this organization, known as Riverside, was originated by Melvyn's parents and others in the community who saw the need in the 1950s), or First Lutheran Church, 2899 W Main St, Troy, OH 45373.
