He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond A. Birt and Eva B. Birt (Stinson); and his siblings, Sharon Pellman and David Birt. He is survived by: his wife Audrey "Loretta" May; his sons, Michael Birt (Ruth) of Piqua and Patrick Birt (Lisa) of Bristow, Virginia; his sister LaVera Black of Zephyrhills, Florida; his grandchildren, Matthew Birt (Angie), Erika Koors (Bob), Ashley Birt and Ryan Birt; and his great grandchildren, Amelia, Adeline, Rebekah and Caleb.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 15th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Melcher-Sowers Funeral Home (646 High St, Piqua, OH 45356). A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, October 15th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
