He was predeceased by: his parents, Jesse Harper and Etta Mae Harper (Moorehead); and his wife Edith Evelyn Harper (Weaver). He is survived by: his grandsons, James Dodd and Jason Dudley; his great grandchild Kegon Seymour; his children, Garland Harper (Kathy) of Pleasant City, Jeff Harper (Leah) of Lancaster, Brian Harper of Cumberland, Trenda Bethel (Larry) of Old Washington and Becky Dudley of Pleasant City; and his son-in-law Tom Combs of Pleasant City. He is also survived by twenty-three grandchildren; forty-two great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren.
