He was predeceased by: his parents, Herbert E. Eichhorn and Marian Eichhorn (Watt); and his brother Stephen Eichhorn. He is survived by: his wife Diana Eichhorn (Schmidt); his children, Herbert E. Eichhorn II, Phillip Ernest "Ernie" Eichhorn, Jr. (Martha) and Hannelore Melsheimer (Shawn); and his grandchildren, Zachary McDermott, Tyler Eichhorn, Oliver Eichhorn, Millie Eichhorn, Landon Melsheimer and Ella Melsheimer.
