He was predeceased by: his former wife Mary Ann Amberger Chancey; his parents, Wilbert Chancey and Nancy Chancey; and his parents-in-law, Hank and Marie Amberger.

He is survived by: his fiancé Kelly Tobin; his sons, Rick Chancey (Karah) and Mike Chancey (Carrie); his grandchildren, Mindy Bradford (Jordan), Annie Chancey, Will Chancey, Skyla Coleman and Lexi Saber (Waeil); and his great grandchildren, Nora Bradford, Baron Bradford, Evelyn Bradford and Zayn Saber.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Meigs Athletic Boosters or Athens Ohio Health Hospice.

“To the family of Charlie- When we moved to Pomeroy in the 60s the first person I met was Charlie Chancey. It turned out our mother knew him from growing up in Ripley and he was our dad Bill Witte's best friend. That friendship only grew stronger throughout my dad's shorten life that ended in 1975. I grew up with Michael and Rick and spent many a wonderful time with the Chancey family. Then to have him as 'our coach' in high school was beyond wonderful. We loved him dearly ! Sheba & Greg Witte”
