He was predeceased by: his father Harry; his brother Tom Bird; and his children-in-law, Valerie Bird and Dan Shears. He is survived by: his wife Diane Bird (Sikula); his children, Robyn Bird (Mark) of New Castle, Pennsylvania., Richard Bird (Marie) of Denver and Tobias Bird (Erika) of Canton, Michigan; and his grandchildren, Tristan, Alexandria, Xavier, Huey, Sophia, Abigail and Alexander. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews.
