With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Janet Ruth Nance of Portsmouth, Ohio, who passed away on June 10, 2025 at the age of 100. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, John W. Tingler and Anna Mae Tingler (Leenuger); her husband Chester Nance; her daughter Alice Burchett; her grandson Jerry Burchett; and her siblings, Evelyn, Eloise, Alma, Richard and Larry.

She is survived by: her daughter Barbara Shumway; and her grandchildren, Greg Shumway, Sherri Lambert, Walter Lee Burchett and Matthew Burchett. She is also survived by nine great grandchildren; many great great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
