He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, John Lawrence and Hilda Mae Welty Swearingen; his wife Judith Ann Freeland Swearingen; his son Dr. Jeffrey V.; his daughter-in-law Ann Swearingen of Greenville, SC; and his grandchildren, Bethany Eyerman (John) and Tyler Snider.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 13th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Tuesday, October 14th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Ralph F. Scott Funeral Home, Inc. (1422 Lincoln St, Portsmouth, OH 45662). A masonic service will be held on Monday, October 13th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 14th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
